Each NRU instrument has programmable self-tests that are configured along with data acquisition parameters. The most frequently used configuration is to enable all self-tests, which is the default. Performance of the NRU self-tests occurs in the following circumstances: At the time of deployment (default config) and/or at a scheduled time of the day (if configured)

Analysis of the test data is performed on the electronics and the sensor. Test results are made available in real-time through the health and status information broadcast. Additionally, the analytical results, along with all raw test data, is retrieved when the NRU’s seismic data is uploaded to the server.
